​Highlights: Sixth EaP CSF Annual Assembly 2014

Over 250 participants from the Eastern Partnership countries and the EU took part in the 6th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum in Batumi, Georgia on November 20-21. Civil society representatives, officials and experts congregated to discuss “EU Integration and Common Security: Making it Happen”. The outcome of the Forum included the adoption of important resolutions, enhanced dialogue between and within civil society in the Eastern Partnership and the EU and important structural and strategic changes to the Forum, which are set to guide the work of the organisation in the coming years. ​EaP CSF Statement on Joint Principles for establishment of civil society platforms between EU and Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

The EaP CSF welcomes the launch of the process of establishing bilateral civil society platforms (CSPs) under the Association Agreements (AAs) between the EU and Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia and calls to launch multilateral political consultation in this regard. The Statement addresses the EU Council, European Commission, European Parliament, EEAS, and the governments of three EaP countries-AAs signatories, three respective National Platforms of the EaP CSF to establish a multilateral Task Force with the aim of solving disputes over its composition in Ukraine, and to ensure that such disagreements will not be replicated in Moldova and Georgia. ​EaP CSF adopts new Strategy for 2015-207

Forum participants have adopted a new strategy for the period of 2015-2017. The document replaces the previous Concept paper for the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum “An Active Partner in Democratic Transition and European Integration”. Forum participants are invited to submit priorities to be included in the strategy over the next two weeks. Read more

​Reform of the Steering Committee of the EaP CSF

The 6th EaP CSF annual assembly in Batumi has adopted a reform of the Steering Committee, its representative and governing body, which will see a downsize to a maximum of 13 members, comprised of 6 Country Coordinators, 5 Working Group Coordinators and up to two EU Advocacy Coordinators. Read more

EaP CSF annual highlights: National Platforms and Working Group present reports and success stories

EaP CSF National Platforms, Working Groups and subgroups have compiled their annual reports, which were presented to the Forum participants at the 6th EaP CSF annual assembly in Batumi, Georgia. Six success stories highlighting the main achievements of the National Platforms showcase the best moments of 2013-2014. See more

Policy Brief: Security in the Eastern Partnership Region and Civil Society’s Role

Published on occasion of the 6th annual assembly of the Forum, the brief written by Hennadyi Maksak and other Forum experts, analyses security in the political, economic, energy and societal spheres within the Eastern Partnership and issues some policy recommendations as well as an analysis of the role that civil society plays. Read more

Events in December

EU-NGO Forum on Human Rights

The 16th EU-NGO Forum on Human Rights, organised by the European Commission is taking place on 4-5 December in Brussels. The event provides a venue for direct interaction between representatives of global civil society and the EU institutions, EU Member States and international organizations on human rights issues. Black Sea NGO Forum

The 7th edition of the Black Sea NGO Forum “Enabling Environment for CSOs: Towards a Strategy of Civil Society in the Black Sea Region” is taking place between the 8th-10th of December 2014, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Read more

The 10th PAUCI December Eastern Forum

The 10th Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation Forum will take place on 14-15th December in Warsaw, during which several EaP CSF members will be participating. 

12th meeting of EaP Platform 4

12th multilateral Platform 4 meeting on “Contacts between People” will take place 3 December and will be presented by newly elected WG4 coordinator Hovsep Khurshudyan.
